The Breville Smart Oven has a lot of advanced features that I just can’t get enough of. It has a larger capacity and will save you time, energy and money on a regular basis.
I love the presets that it has on the main panel. There are four preset buttons and you can use them to make toast, bagels, pizza or cookies. The presets allow you to program the Smart Oven to perform the exact same steps every single time you want it to without much effort from your end.
It will automatically adjust to the type of bread you want to toast as well. It also comes with a manual setting so you get the pre-set options but can also do things like adjust the brownness or the cooking time to make things just right for your own unique tastes.
The Breville Smart Oven also has an air-filtration system which will prevent odors from staying in your house while you’re cooking. And it has a delayed start option so you can program in your desired time and it will turn on and start cooking at the precise time you want.
This is going to save you time and energy because it doesn’t waste power or generate heat if no one needs it right away. You can also set a cook time right on the panel, and then let it go on for as long as you need, which is great for when you need to get something started before heading out the door for work in the morning.
Another cool feature that the Breville Smart Oven has is a Perfect Lake Display that has precise countdown timers so you’ll always know what’s going on in your oven, even if it’s not visible from where you’re sitting.
There’s an window on the top that allows me to check out how my food is doing without having to open up the oven door and release all of my heat. I don’t have to go digging around with my finger to find out how hot my food is getting either because there are sensors in there that will tell me what I need to know.
I love my Smart Oven because I can use it when I need small batches of fresh cookies after dinner or when I want to bake breakfast muffins for my kids to take with them on their way out the door. It’s also very handy.
The Breville pro has six heating elements on the top and a single heating element on the bottom. The Breville Air has one more top element, giving it 7 total, for even better heat distribution.
The rack is definitely one of the highlights of this oven. It does not just have nine different positions, but each position can fit a really large pot or Dutch oven, making it far easier to cook a stew or a braise in this thing.
It also has 13 available modes. This is three more than the Pro, which are nice if you want to use it for bread proofing (dough), air frying oven or dehydrating foods.
But if you want the best small countertop convection oven for your kitchen, I’d say go with the Breville Air.
Danger zone: 300 degrees Fahrenheit
This is the older version of the Cuisinart TOB-40, however I’m not going to pretend I know the difference when it comes to microwave ovens (I don’t!)
This appliance is countertop worthy and it is also a lot bigger than a lot of kitchen appliances that I have. However, if you are not quite sure you want to make that kind of commitment, there are smaller versions available. The prices will vary, however the TOB-25 is a 23% scaled down version of this appliance.
